Hotel Gran Duca

Beautiful, grand old hotel with a wonderful close location to the port, lovely welcoming staff and great restaurant. We arrived off the ferry and easily walked there, and then enjoyed a wonderful evening meal. It was then only a few steps to the bus stop to go to the train station and the reception staff were keen to offer advice and directions. There were great views from the large windows in the hallway, over the port, and from our room over the piazza behind the hotel.

Been annual customer at his hotel for 40 years. Perfect located since we depart with the Corsica-Sardinia Ferry just around the corner. A problem in later years have been parking places out side the hotel. Public parking meters have replaced hotel allowed parking, so it can be difficult to find a place and feed the machines with coins. Anyhow, always smiling and friendly staff that have received us and our small dogs with enthusiasm and love.

reception was excellent, parking is very necessary and very secure, rooms were clean and very comfortable and a great view of the harbour.

Location is perfect to explore Livorno. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially Valentina. It is in an historic building which gives it charm and as is expected, the rooms are small but had a refrigerator. The breakfast was great with friendly staff. Would stay here again. We took the boat canal tour around Livorno and would recommend it.

Staff always friendly and helpful. Great location for walks as close to the city centre. Close to where the canal boat trip leaves. Close to Conrad Supermarket.
